North Dakota Women’s Network to Hold 2019 Annual Meeting and Banquet in FargoBismarck, ND, August 13, 2019—Highlighting the two-day North Dakota Women’s Network Annual Meeting will be the recognition of Rep. Ruth Buffalo, D-Fargo, as the 2019 ND Women’s Network Woman of the Year.
The two-day annual meeting kicks off with the Woman of the Year Banquet Friday, Sept.13, with a social beginning at 5 p.m. and the banquet starting at 6 p.m. All activities are at the Radisson Hotel in downtown Fargo. Buffalo was elected to the North Dakota House of Representatives from District 27 in 2018. In her first session in the legislature, seven of the eight bills she introduced passed and became law, including policies surrounding missing and murdered indigenous people and human trafficking. She has a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice and three master’s degrees: one in management, another in business administration, and one in public health. Buffalo is an enrolled citizen of the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation. The Annual Meeting will continue Saturday with a variety of education sessions on issues facing women.
